Commission a woodburning! A few years ago, I started making gifts for fellow pastors who were moving on from their current call (for whatever reason). The gift was a pyrographic rendering (woodburning, but said fancier) of the church where they served. Starting with photograph, I create a sketch of the building and then slowly progress to the final burning.
In addition to retiring or intinerate pastors, these make great gifts for volunteers, elders and deacon, or newly ordained or installed clergy (with or without the “first do no harm tag line”.) Consider adding a brass plate with a name, location, dates, or messages of gratitude.
Subject matters can also include instruments or parts of architecture (such as a steeple or a stained glass window). We can get creative!
Prices vary by size and complexity which generally range from 5×5 wood panels to multiple panels mounted on canvas. Contact me for more specifics!
